Do you ever find yourself being very busy but not getting much achieved?
I find that a common problem, particularly with women who have hectic lives and have to juggle lots of ‘things’. Often there is overwhelm and it’s impossible to see the wood for the trees.
I am not saying that everyone has ADHD, but it is a very ADHD trait to take on a lot, seek perfection and then end up not achieving any of the goals you may have set yourself for the day. I know, because that is me down to a tee. It is also daunting and exhausting to face a mountain of paperwork without systems or a sense of where to start.
I love my ADHD traits as I can be very focused once I get myself into something BUT sometimes, focusing too hard on one thing means I lose track of time and I often find myself, at the end of the day, rather at a loss to understand where the day had gone.
If you want to take my advice, there is only one way for it, you have to strip back how many ‘things’ you are doing and focus on doing one thing at a time. I keep just one small notepad and every night, before bed, it’s updated. I write what I intend to do the next day.
It keeps me motivated and gives me something to aim for.
