Working from home can be daunting even for the most positive people. Let’s face it, if you like people and enjoy being in the company of others, finding yourself sat at your computer for hours on end without human interaction can be hardcore.
I’ve struggled over the years with working from home and writing my blogs but I’ve sussed it out now. First and foremost, I’ve created a beautiful space for myself to work from. It happens to be my picnic bench style table, but it’s great, and I’m close to the coffee for lots of energy. 🙂
But over and above that, I’ve systematized everything I’m doing, from the documents I produce to the emails I receive by carefully filing and keeping in every element of my work in order, so I can find everything and feel on top of it all. I’m a big fan of lists and a decluttered email inbox, there is only one way you can stay in charge, if you take charge of your inbox. One of the many things I regularly do is to unsubscribe to those pesky emails I’ve never even signed up for in the first place. Gone, goodbye! I also flag up everything that is urgent and needs my immediate attention. I spent a few hours last night doing this, even highlighting articles I need to read. It’s a great way to create a sort of ‘to-do list’ straight from your inbox.
In my long career in London and in my own business I put so many different systems in place to help people feel more organised and on top of things.
If you feel your workspace is not conducive to making you feel happy and relaxed, why not allow me to help you create that wonderful and calm space and declutter your inbox at the same time. Trust me, you’ll feel like a new person and never look back!
Give me a call or send me an email to discuss.
