As many of you will know from reading my blogs, I’ve been a fan of personal development for a long time. This isn’t because I’m boring but because it interests me. I think as you get older it’s nice to explore this a bit to see what makes you tick and why you do the things you do. But it’s not all about me, it’s about what makes others tick too; once you know yourself and why you do the silly or not so silly things you do, then you’ll understand others. This makes you a great person to know as you don’t judge or criticise but just accept that we’re the way we are due to life events (mostly), sometimes genetics, but frankly, I believe your environment forms who you are – which is why home styling & decluttering can really help.

However, this blog is not about personal development, it’s about home styling and decluttering and why, for me, these have become important life tools which I utilise now for others but also for myself.

Since I was a little girl I was no happier than when I was organising my stuff, e.g. decluttering my wardrobe, tidying and sorting my drawers and writing list, lots of lists. Those ‘formulas for success’ as they’re called were to define who I became as a woman.  At the age of 16 I went to Secretarial college and from there went on to work for a number of well-known companies including TSW (a TV company), RTZ (mining company) and HHB.  My job was to bring order to chaos and in some cases, my ‘style’ ideas were needed, especially when setting up a trade show booth (I did this when I ran a well-known skincare brand with my husband). I believe that having a calm place (i.e. your home) shows respect to yourself and brings a state of calm. We all need a safe place, a place that really does feel like home.

These formulas for success should be embraced as they make ‘you’ uniquely you and make you an expert in what you do.

I love home-styling and decluttering. It makes me feel very calm and I love transforming lives in the process. I do this easily and I do it well, nothing phases me. Apart from that, I love that lives can be transformed during the process!

If you feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you have, why don’t you invite me into your life to declutter, home-style and help you move forward? There are so many tips and tricks I can share with you and I’m a big fan of having stuff – just not lots of it. It’s how you place it, position it and in the case of photos, how you frame them.

Not only that, I’m great at turning a house around if you’re struggling to sell it. I’ve done this on a number of occasions for a couple of clients. I’ve decluttered, re-styled and made their homes feel homely and therefore sellable. You need to remember that not all buyers can see beyond your furniture, your wall coverings or your knick-knacks. In recognising this and hiring a professional to declutter and style your home thus making it more sellable for that elusive buyer is a smart move. I know how hard it can be to let go and get on top of things you have accumulated over the years, especially if parents have passed away and you have inherited their possessions, but letting go and trusting someone who has empathy, a big heart and the energy to do the job and do it well, will literally change your life forever. I’m not adverse to hard work and if I need to get my sleeves rolled up I will do it. I work efficiently and quickly.

Some of my home style ideas are reflected in the photos of my own apartment above. If you are in need of someone with experience in home-styling and decluttering, a fresh eye to give your home a new look and make it more sellable, give me a ring to have a chat or email me at
