I googled the other day “How to love…….” Just to see what came up. Guess what was the number one answer?
“How to love your body”. It shows that so many people are not really loving themselves and asking Google for the answer. Of course, a plethora of self-help books created anyone searching for the ultimate answer to an age-old question.
I wonder if the searchers were predominantly women. I think the answer to that would be a resounding yes. What are we like? Truly, we live in 2021 and we are still seeking to find the cure to not loving ourselves enough, or our bodies in general, by trolling through the internet.
I must say I am no guru at this stuff but at the age of fifty-six I can say I like myself a lot more, but the body thing still floors me. I think it’s because I am a perfectionist and, as a perfectionist, I am never going to see what others see. I am always going to see ‘more’ and that often means being overly critical.
I am a big fan as you may know of Louise Hay and she has helped me more than she will ever know, as she has helped millions. Her book ‘Mirror Work’ is genius but needs dedication.
Decluttering can take many forms and decluttering your belief in yourself is a great way to start.
I still think that with age, comes wisdom, and I offer you some respite in the fact that ageing is a good thing. You truly do come to accept yourself more and when you do that, things truly do change for you.
