Exercise is an important and essential part of a healthy balanced mind and body state. For some, the word alone is enough to send shivers down the spine as it conjures up images of jumping around at the gym.
I am a big fan of walking and in fact many years ago I was advised that a 45-minute brisk walk was as good as any run. It’s a sociable, positive and enjoyable way to start your day. Get up an extra half hour early. If you have a child or children bring them with you, they will benefit too. Enjoy the fresh air, clear your mind, breathe, plan your day, smile, look at the birds and the views. I promise you, you will feel so much better for it. But remember fast-paced walking throws off more calories so make an effort to get a move on, no country ramble after a big Sunday lunch!
